  1. I'm going to suggest the library. My daughter just got a book on "Build a Better Robot". It has a bunch of ways to play around with inventions, building different stuff, like a voice synthesizer. You could also get the kits at radio shack or target in the toy section.

Paper mache is easy, we usually mix half and half regular school glue with water, and dip in strips of torn newspaper. Squeegy off most of it, and stick to the the form of your choice. You can use balloons, but we've also built forms from gardening wire and chop sticks. lol

  2. Well you could always build a bettery using different fruits and vegetables. Make it an experiment. Which fruits or vegetables can get, say... a stop watch to run the longest. If you use a lemmon, an orange, an apple, and a banana, you might be surprised by the results.

  3. You could make a piñata. You blow up a balloon.  Then you take strips of newspaper and dip them in plaster of paris.  Then you lay them on the balloon until it's covered (fairly thickly), except for a small spot big enough to pour some candy into.  Wait for it to dry... then pop the balloon with a pin and fill the inside of the newspaper with candy.  Then put a couple more dipped strips of newspaper over the hole to close it up.  You can paint it if you want to, also, if you are careful.  Hang it somewhere and have some friends over...then do the blindfold and spinning thing and destroy it and get the candy!
