Prominent Derby hopes to clash in Dante Stakes – Horse Racing Update
It has been reported today that the three big names being considered for the upcoming significant Investec Derby event have been declared for the warm up race that is being flaunted by the name of Totesport Dante Stakes.
Among the field of six contenders, the race-horses World Domination, Seville and Carlton House have been confirmed.
For this particular meeting, the three race-horses are being quoted at the same odds by the sponsors for the main race of York meeting. All the three colts will be contending this race as co-favourites at 2-1. Nonetheless, the trainee of the famed trainer
Henry Cecil, World Domination, is being backed with the shortest odds for the Epsom meeting, meanwhile the sponsors William Hill has quoted him as 7-1 favorite for the Classic event.
On the other hand, the champion race-horse owned by the Queen, Carlton House will be making his first public appearance after he won the Newbury maiden event that was run back in October.
He trains under the care of the champion trainer Sir Michael Stoute. It has been revealed that he will be ridden by the jockey Ryan Moore. On the other hand, the second place finisher of the Racing Post Trophy, Seville will be running this race under the
jockey Christophe Soumillon. Seville is the trainee of talented trainer Aidan O’Brien.
Other contenders of this race include the race-horse Ashva. He trains under the care of trainer Michael Dods and will be ridden by the jockey Johnny Murtagh. The field of the Dante Stakes will be completed by the other two colts named Pisco Sour and Yaseer.
Other race that is a part of the York’s card on Thursday is the Totesport.com Middleton Stakes, which is a Group 2 event. This race will be contended by the talented race-horse Midday along with seven other colts. One of these seven contenders is the trainee
of David Elsworth, Myplacelater, who was the second place finisher in the Pride Stakes Group 2 that took place at Newmarket back in October. She is expected to give an impressive performance at York.
