Promoter Eddie Hearn not happy with Amir Khan’s comments on Kell Brook – Boxing news
The current British welterweight titleholder and the World Boxing Organisation’s Inter-continental titleholder Kell Brook recently defeated the Black Panther, Lovemore N’Dou, after claiming an impressive points victory in Sheffield.
It was one of the biggest tests of Brook’s career however the current World Boxing Association’s World super lightweight champion, Amir Khan, does not agree with it as he stated if Brook wants to test himself he should fight with a real champion.
The undefeated prospect, Brook, who has won all of his 24 fights including 16 by the way of a knockout, also responded to Khan’s comment. He said if Khan wants a fight, he is always welcomed but he would never stand any chance.
He said, “Amir shouldn’t talk rubbish. If he wants it he can have it because his chin wouldn’t stand up to my power.”
The promoter, Eddie Hearn, in the meanwhile is not happy with what Khan has done. Hearn told the media he does not want to get into all of this but it was disappointing from Khan. He added British prospects should support each other instead of fighting.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Amir made some disappointing comments about Kell and I’m not getting involved in calling him out, but the fight could happen. I was disappointed at what Amir said because British prospects should be supporting each
other.”
Hearn also reckons N’Dou, who was the International Boxing Federation’s world light welterweight champion before losing out to Paul Malignaggi, was a perfect test for the Kid, Brook.
Hearn remarked he was not disappointed at all from the stuff that both pugilists showed. He said Brook wanted to win the bout with a knockout but he failed to do it as N’Dou pushed him to the limits.
“N’Dou was Kell’s first real test and he dealt with him easily. It was the perfect opponent. Kell wanted the stoppage win, but I was happy to see him go 12 rounds for the first time. It was a tremendous learning experience,” said Hearn.
