Does anyone know how to hang a banner to promote a business? Or am I foolish for asking. Thanks

Are you talking about hanging a banner on a building or somewhere in the real world to promote a business?  If so, you just tack it up where you want it to be.  Some hang them in windows or outside on the wall or wherever.  

If you are talking about putting a banner on the home page of a Yahoo group, you edit the group description and place the html where you want it to appear.

there's many sites out there that are a fast-learn for HTML, there's even banner maker sites out there. pretty hard to show/ teach HTML this an answer.

I'd suggest doing a search for such sites and book mark them for future use :)

You are not foolish for asking. You need to get a firm in charge of advertisement to do it. All depend on how large your banner is. There are laws from local council governing hanging of banner.
