Proof of Age in NSW and Australia?

Are New Zealand ID's (18+ Card and Drivers License) acceptable in Australia, particularly NSW?

Yes they are. Although if you've only just turned 18 and look reasonably young, then those checking your ID will be suspicious of a NZ ID card because they're not trained in what aspects of the card to look at for fraudulence.

Generally they should be, especially since NZ and AU are regarded to be similar countries. However, I think the person you are presenting the ID to has no obligation to accept it.

You should be right, just keep your NZ accent going and it will be believable :P
