Proof of insurance?

HI, I got a speeding ticket that i have to pay by tomorrow. I didnt have proof of insurance in my car at the time the officer pulled me over (because its a new car). I thought i had it in my house (i put it in there after i sold my old car) but now i cant find it! What would happen if I went and paid my ticket on time (tomorrow) but couldnt find my insurance? I AM insured, but what if I can't get proof in time (tomorrow) can i turn it in later?

Call your insurance agent and have him fax or send you an email with your proof of insurance...why did you wait?

Have your agent fax you a temporary card and mail you new ones. Or stop by and get one. You will save yourself a big headache.

Check if your ins co is on line, and if you can just go to their web site print out a proof. I know I can.

Obviously you have the internet.  You should be able to log on to your insurance company and print out 'financial responsibility' cards.

likely yes, tell them they were not open yet and go to the insurance co. and get a copy. This has happened to me, and they just told me to bring in the proof that same day, and it wasn't a problem. Just matters where you live. Don't worry; ain't no big thing!

Call your insurance company and get it faxed to you or to court.If you don't have proof you lose your license. I jst got mine back for the same thing.

Call your insurance company and have them fax a copy of your proof of insurance to you.  If you don't have a fax, have them fax it to the courthouse and/or go to Kinkos and have them fax it there.  Kinkos charges about a dollar a page to receive a fax.

if you got a ticket because you arent carrying insurance- call the insurance company and have you send them a new one. In the meantime, plead not guilty and by the time you get to court youll have a new insurance card, and try to get proof from the insurance company that you were insured from day 1

usually you can call your insurance agent and get a print out of a proof of insurance pick it up or they can fax it to the police department for you.

You will get fined even larger if you do not show proof of insurance and they don't care what your excuse it. You need to contact your insurance company and get a fax of your insurance card or statement or something! It can be done. Try and get a printout offline if you have that access.
