Proper Nora heads on for victory in the Owlerton Bookmakers Ladies 480 – Dup at Sheffield
Sheffield will stage the Owlerton Bookmakers Ladies 480 – Dup over 480 metres flat on Tuesday, 5th June. Contesting for the £200 prize money are Stepaside Cindy, Elmics Dream, Wajas Moll, Proper Nora, Little Thanks and Russanda Clash.
One of the most competitive contenders in the race is Proper Nora, Crash’s two-year-old black daughter out of b***h, Proper Lu Lu. The current season marks out to be her debut season.
Proper Nora started off by claiming the career debut on 17th March in a 500 metres race at Sheffield. She rested the race in 29.85 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Lodgeview Print, by 6 ¾ lengths.
She dominated the second chance of the career too. She completed the 500 metres race on 22nd March at Sheffield in 29.83 seconds. Taking charge of the final 1 ¼ lengths, she set Bandicoot Ripley as the runner up.
She failed to strike a hat trick through the first three races of the career by finishing third during the third attempt.
She held on to the third career success on 2nd April at Sheffield over 280 metres. She reached the other end of the wire in 16.47 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Freespirit Teal, by 1 ¾ lengths.
On 13th April, the two-year-old won a Grade A2 500 metres flat race at Sheffield by completing the trip in 29.50 seconds. She led the 2/1 joint favourite of the race, Outlier Rudi, by five and a half lengths.
The other joint favourite, Stepaside Red, ended fourth.
For a second time her chances of posting the career hat trick got over shadowed by the second position that she scored on 19th April at Sheffield over 500 metres. She missed it by four and a half lengths while Lonely Boy won the race.
Her next five races found her unsuccessful and eventually she broke free from the gloomy phase by winning a Grade A2 500 metres flat on 28th May at Sheffield. She was done racing in 29.53 seconds and led by just half a length.
The 2/1 favourite of the race, Ballymac Miriam, ended third behind the winner.
Her chances of posting a win through the race tonight are quite high.
