When I first starting driving it was in a 10 speed volvo. But within a few months of driving I starting driving an automatic. I was hoing someone could give me a good list of downshift speeds for the 10 speed semi. Upshifting is fine just downshifting, I might be alittle rusty on. I have to take a road test to start a new job and I dont want to come off like I dont know what I'm doing.

  1. Your letting your nerves get the best of ya here. If they are not watching you make every single shift then I would suggest slowing down, throwing it neutral and then finding the appropriate gear for that speed. Once it's in neutral all ya got do is rev it up a little to get it into gear. Then you will know what RPM meet which road speeds in order to down shift properly. You will remember, just fine once you get in and do it.

  2. every truck is different. use your best judgement. i recommend practice

  3. you really have to use the sound of the truck and the load your hauling. there are no magic numbers that work in every case.
