  1. Always give your notice in writing.  Ask your boss if you can meet for a few minutes to talk.  Tell them that school is starting soon and that you'll be resigning.  Mention that you've liked working at the hotel and then ask if you can be re-hired if school doesn't work out.  The next day turn in a written notice.  Give one copy to your boss and the other copy to Human Resources.

  2. Both first in person and then in writing.. it's important they have a letter of resignation..  and that you tell them just 2 weeks ahead so they can look for a replacement.. you don't ever give a negative reason for leaving.. just a general letter of resignation... either you have been offered a new position in a different field.. etc.. or something of the kind and ask them when you leave if you may name them as a refrerence to your future employer.. or in the future... it is good to ask because if you name them as a reference without asking then they could say what they want. but if they tell you that of course you may give their name and phone number as a reference then the boss can only give a good reference should a future employer phone them and ask questions about you and your work and reliability.. etc.. it's polite to ask the boss or manager that... xx

  3. you should do it in person and give a writing at the same time.

    good luck

  4. In person and say how much you have enjoyed working there but you want to improve yourself by going to school and hopefully be able to return in the future.

  5. Put it in writing -- but first tell your boss verbally.

Be sure to tell him/her that you've enjoyed working there and that you appreciate the experience they've given you.   Say this verbally and in writing.

It's always best, whenever possible, to leave a job on good terms.   As the old saying goes, never burn your bridges.

  6. 1. Fill out a paper with dates on it saying that you are turning in your 2 wks notice

    2.  Have your surperviser/bose sign it and date it

3.......AND PLEASE please please make a copy AND KEEP UP WITH IT!!!

I didn't keep up with mine and when I came back from being out of town for summer they wouldn't accept me b/c they claim I didn't turn in 2 wks notice.
