Can someone with a lil more experience that me help explain something: I just began using urine ovulation predictor strips about two weeks ago, adn according to the instructions (ordered them from canada thru ebay), it is best to test the same time of day, between noon and 8 pm...can you explain why i'd wait further in the day, when the hormone level would probably be lower/diluted, like how to use a pregnancy test (first urine of the day)?

  1. The hormone that ovulation strips look for is called Luteinizing Hormone, or LH, is produced in the morning but it takes a few hours for it to start being excreeted in your urine. Also, when using OPK's--ovulation predictor kit--you should reduce your liquid intake for about 4 hours prior to the test so that your urine won't be diluted. Only drink a sip or two during that time and be sure to hold your urine for a full 4 hours.
