I know this is too general, but i am to write a report on the materials used to make solar panels, and i am to include the physical, mechanical ,and chemical properties of the materials.

It's just too general, such that i am lost. There are so many types of solar panels. So i hope some experts on this subject can give me a general guide lines ,maybe the tensile strength ?

as much as you can please.

Thank You

  1. There are so blastedly many different solar cell compounds in the world that such a report would need to be massive to be at all comprehensive.  I would focus more on the commonly known solar cell, the silicon based cell.  It contains many different materials, so this is a complex discussion.  But the main substances are Silicon, Titanium, palladium, silver, and Sio2 (silicon dioxide).

I would steer clear of the galium arsinide, gallium antiminide, and all those exotic cell compoundings.

As for finding the properties of these materials, matweb is your friend.  It can actually offer so stupidly much information it might be a bit overwhelming.

    good luck and happy writing...
