Question:

Property Taxes on Condo?

by  |  earlier

I received a bill from my town for the property tax/ 2009 on my condo (just bought in April). I thought this was included with my FHA mortgage loan. Looking on my recent mortgage bill, it doesn't mention taxes in the breakdown, just escrow. Do I need to forward this bill from the town to my lender? Thanks!

  1. Escrow is most likely for taxes and insurance.  Call your lender to make sure - they might have also already gotten a copy of the tax bill, or you might have to forward it to them.

  2. Usually, your taxes are included in the escrow payment you make each month.  You can call your lender to be 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure you're paying your taxes in escrow.  In that case, yes, you would send the bill to the lender.
