Question:

Prophethood of Jesus (P.B.U.H) in his re-appearance?

Jesus (P.B.U.H) will reappear before the Day of Judgement as a member of Muhammad (P.B.U.H)'s ummah. He (A.S) will comply with Muhammad (P.B.U.H)'s shariah.

The question is: will He (A.S) still be a Messenger (and thus, a Prophet) in his re-appearance?

Note: The hadith about dajjal says that Allah will transmit 'wahi'(revelations) to Isa (Jesus) A.S. during the difficult period of Gog Magog (Ya'juj Ma'ajuj), guiding Him how to save the muslims.

But I'm not sure that receiving the revelations can alone prove His prophethood. I mean, Allah even sent a revelation to the honey bee, ordering it to make it's hive in certain places (Al-Quran).

Does anybody have authentic hadiths or knows any Quranic ayahs which refer to this? By authentic hadiths, I refer to those which are from the 6 principal, well known, established books of hadith. The Sahah Sittah.

  1. well the messages have been sealed by the last messenger Muhammad (saw), and since Islam is the last message, so there won't be neither prophets nor messengers, this is clearly stated in the last sermon of Muhammad (saw) (Farewell Sermon):

    "    O People,

No prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well therefore, O people, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Quran and the Sunnah (Hadith*), and if you follow these you will never go astray. All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listened to me directly."

    Allah (swt) says:

(This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.)

  2. The wahi will be under the shariah of Mohammed PBUH. There won't be any religious order which is not included in Islamic shariah.

  3. This is a better reply to your answer..... from the same article btw:

Another question raised by the belief in the return of Jesus is: Does the return of Jesus mean that the Prophet was not the last prophet? How can it be said that there is no prophet after Muhammad when according to some ahadith Jesus, a prophet, will come again?

This question has been discussed quite early by Muslims. It is raised and answered by Zamakhshari in his comment on 33:40: “If you ask how Muhammad can be the last of the prophets when Jesus will appear towards the end of the world? I shall reply that the finality of the prophethood of Muhammad means that no one will be endowed with prophethood after him. Jesus is among those upon whom prophethood was endowed before Muhammad. Moreover, Jesus will appear as a follower of Muhammad and he will offer prayers with his face towards the Qiblah of Islam, as a member of the community of the Muslims.” It is probably this question and answer that lies behind a saying attributed to ‘A‘isha, the Prophet’s wife: “Say that he (i.e., the Prophet) is khatam (seal) of the prophets, but do not say, there is no prophet after him.” The attestation of this saying is very late and no early oral authority is known for it. The saying conflicts with earlier traditions in which the Prophet himself says, “There is no prophet after me”, exactly the statement that ‘A‘ishah allegedly tells people not to say. The saying is probably one way to answer the question raised above. It is trying to tell us that while the Prophet Muhammad is indeed the last prophet, it is not quite accurate to say that no prophet will come after him since the return of the Prophet Jesus will take place after him.

  4. I could not convince Isa will come again. neither by quran nor hadeeth not giving clear idea.

only they could not kill him, he escaped.

not seeing anything good in hiding a prophet coming back after thousands or millions of years.

  5. The process of "Wahi" has been cut off with the death of Hazrat Mohammad(SAW). only "ilham" can be given

So if i am not wrong its for sure that there would be no "Wahi" after Hazrat Mohammad(SAW).If the hadith which u read is "sahi" then it must be in some different context.U must consult an aalam.

  6. According to Islamic beliefs he will battle against Al-Dajjal (Anti-Christ) then Gog and Magog.

  7. Jesus (AS) will be Ummati of Muhammad (SAW) and will no bring new Sharia.

In History Allah sent two messengers/prophets at same time for same nation like Prophet Moses (AS) and Prophet Haroon (AS). Prophet Haroon (AS) followed the sharia of Prophet Moses (AS).

    --------

In a lengthy hadith by Hadhrat Nawwas ibn Sam'aan (R.A.) Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) is reported to have said:

"...Allah will send revelation upon Eesa (A.S.) that 'Such a creation of mine is now going to emerge that no power will be able to stop them. Therefore take my servants and ascend the Mount of Toor.' Then Ya'jooj and Majooj will emerge and surge forth in all their fury. When those from among them who constitute the former part of their army pass the lake of Tiberias (which is in northern Palestine), they will drink up all the water of that lake and by the time those that constitute the latter part of that same army pass the lake, they will say, "There used to be water here (long ago). When they reach the Mount of Khamr in Jerusalem, they will arrogantly proclaim: 'We have conquered the people of the earth, now we will annihilate those in the sky.' So saying they will fire their arrows towards the sky. When the arrows return to the ground they will be blood stained.

In the meantime, Eesa (A.S.) will be on the Mount of Toor with his followers. At that time the head of and ox will be as valuable as is a hundred dinars to you in this day. [This indicates the scarcity of provisions]. Faced with these hardships, Eesa (A.S.) and his followers will make dua unto Allah (to remove this calamity). As a result, Allah will cause sores to appear on the necks of each and every individual of these people which will cause their death suddenly. When Eesa (A.S.) and his followers descend from the Mount of Toor there will not be a single space on the land where the dead rotting bodies of these people is not littered, giving off a horrendous odour. Eesa (A.S.) and his followers will once more supplicate unto Allah as a result of which Allah will send down huge birds whose necks will be as thick as that of the necks of camels, and they will dump these bodies in a place where Allah wills. (According to a narration by Tirmidhi, they will be dumped at a place called Nahbal).

(I don't know exact hadith number)

Wahy can be divided into two types Matloo and Ghair Matloo.

Revelation to Jesus (AS) after second coming can be Ghair Matloo Wahy, Kashf, Illham, Dream or Wahy like bee.
