Proposed Donnington changes?

What do you make of the proposed changes to Donnington Park, as outlined in MCN this week, they include straightening the Foggy Esses into a kink to enable 200mph into the loop, plus the extra bit that removes Goddards, Redgate to Coppice remains untouched, if so what do you make of them?

  1. 200mph into the Melbourne loop seems ab it excessive its 30mph corner !!!that's alot of braking,i have rode donnington and it can be pretty hairy going in at 100mph if you make a mistake, sounds dangerous to me

at the end of the day the people who "know best " will do whatever the h**l they like to make money,s***w the rest of us and the circuit, its money that talks, wankers

  2. Seems like they may start messing about with Donnington in prep for the British F1 GP, moving from Silverstone in 2010.

I can't hide that I'm an F1 fan though I am a motorcycle rider and enthusiast too and having ridden at track days and witnessed races in many categories at Donnington I can say I would prefer no changes.

  3. Mr J.G has got it right here.

The plans to make changes are to get hold of some of Bernies money.

I for one would like to see the track the same. It's already different for bikes and cars and that works fine.

  4. As soon as the F1 squad said it was moving to Donny there was going to be change.    Ã‚£10M development,   some is going to the track. personally as a spectator I love the melbourne loop, watching the acceleration and braking from the Fogggy esses is awesome as it is. I know people say its the micky mouse section But I like it.     F1 will change and ruin Donnington as we know it. Before long we will see the re-design of the craner curves as they will be deemed too dangerous for the cars, at which point there will be no Donny.

To say the least I am gutted.
