We are both 17 and have been together for almost 3 years now. I am wanting to propose to her but I am kind of stuck on how to do it. I dropped a hint at it a couple of days ago since a friend who is married told me that might help things...i'm not really sure why I listened to him since it has just gotten me more worried about how to do it.

Anyway, how do I go about asking her to be my wife? any suggestions will help :)

  1. Thats very sweet, congratulations. Make it personal, think about things she likes, is she an outdoor person, does she like the sea ( water )? Things like that can help make it very romantic. Try staying up with her until the sunrises and then asking her in a special place like on a hill. If your going away somewhere together, ask her in front of a special monument. Just be sweet, and make her feel special all the time leading up to that moment.

    Good luck! : )

  2. i think this would be a really cute idea, and it'd something i'd like a guy to do for me when i'm older.

go somewhere at night, like the beach or just the park, something simple where you guys can just lay together. after awhile, when it feels right, ask her. there's something about being together at night, especially outside, that makes it seem even more special.

  3. Huh, funny. A girl that is 17 who has been dating a guy (also 17) posted something earlier about her bf hinting to a proposal :) Coincidence? My husband took me on a hike to see waterfalls. We packed a picnic and ate under the falls. He wasn't really formal about it, he just stopped in the middle of the trail, got down on one knee and spoke from the heart. Don't get all cliche about it and take her out to a fancy restaurant. Take her somewhere that will be meaningful to the two of you. Nature is always a beautiful and romantic setting, I'd stick with that. Good Luck ;)

  4. you are only 17 dude. there is plenty of time man. do you really want miss out on those care free 20 something years of waking up in some chicks bed and not knowing if done the buisness or all that fun stuff that happens when young drunk and free.

  5. I know someone who played a game.  He figured out how to purpose to every girl he LIKED.  The big thing is make it special.  If she is a social butterfly make sure it's somewhere with a lot of her friends, where you have put her in the spot light.  If she is shy, make sure you two are alone, but still make her feel special, say candlelight dinner.  That's the big thing, make her feel like the most important thing (and person of course).

  6. You should just tell her that you have to ask her something and then first say let's go out to dinner and ask her if you can see her fork and then put the ring on it and then give it back and be like here you go and then if she notices it be like will you marry me?

  7. O.k. I might not know to much about marriage, but I will try to help you as much as I can. Near where I live, a few months ago, there was a big proposal thing in my town. This guy took his girlfriend out to dinner (at their fave restaurant) that was near a theater . After their dinner, they took a nice walk down the street/walkway. When they were about to pass the theater, he said "look up". A sign on the theater said in big lights "____ will you marry me?" After reading the message, a local band came out of the theater and played their favorite song. Of course, she said "Yes, I will". Even if you can not do something as elaborate as that, you can still do something really nice. Such as going on a picnic or out to dinner. If any of your guy's freinds know how to play an instrument, see if maybe they can come out after you pop the question and play her favorite song. Just do something that both of you will remember. Good luck! God bless you.

  8. Buy her a really pretty ring and take her to a fancy restaurant.

After that go on your knees and ask her if you could marry her.

I know its sort of HARD!

But if you really love her you could do it!

Well, I want you to know that your a very smart man.

I also want you to know that aren't you too young to get married.

Don't you think that she would like it if you were to take it step a time.

I think that she would like it if she would get a pretty good job with good money.

I think it's too early to think about getting married at age 17.

    But then again,IT'S YOUR LIFE!

I am not the type that wants yo barge in and control it.

Then again, take her to the resturant and and make sure you have a ring in your pocket.

    *Congratulations!*

  9. There are a ton of ways to propose.

You can go to the first place you had your first date at.  You can take her to a special dinner and before hand go and have flowers and a ring waiting for her.  You can have her ring on top of her desert.  You can on New's Eve as it turns into New Year's Day. On Christmas morning at her parents house.  Have her ring in a small box and put it into a bigger box.  I hope that this will help you out!

    Best of luck!

Married for 11 years and 3 children

  10. Just ask her! Try to make it heartfelt and tell her why you want to sped the rest of your life with her and it doesn't matter when or where or how.Good luck

  11. Get a great job, earning awsome cash and benefits. Get a home in a nice neighborhood where kids are safe and schools are top rated. After all that ask her if she'd like a share of the success you've made yourself. If she turns you down, dedicate yourself to the job and getting to the top there so you have a really better time attracting women who want you truly.

  12. well it depends on if you want to go the dramatic route or a more quite subdued route?

  13. AWWW THIS IS SWEET PERSONALLY IVE ALWAYS WANTED TO BE PROPOSED INA MOVIE THEATRE CREATE A POWER POINT VIDEO OF YOU GUYS YEARS TOGETHER ASK A MANAGER TO USE A EMPTY THEATER ROOM INVITE HER FAMILY TO THE ROOM HAVE IT DARK IN THERE ALREADY THEN ONCE THE POWER POINTS OVER POP THE QUESTIONS AND HAVE THE LIGHTS TURNED ON SO YOU FAMILYS CAN SHARE IN THE EXPERIENCE

  14. Go to a romantic place like the beach at sunset and kneel down on one knee and ask her to marry you

  15. you should take her somewhere in the country at night to look at the stars. Make sure it is complete darkness tho. and then ask her

  16. take her to the park at night, after a romantic date, and tell her to look up at the stars.  while she's looking up, get down on one knee, and ask her when she looks back down.

  17. I would sent her a dozen red roses with a note that says to go your front door. She opens her door and you are there with a ring and you say '___, baby, will you marry me"

  18. Are you certain you want to propose at your age? Your both very young in my opinion and might want to give it a few more years and see if it works out or you could really regret it. I'm not gonna stop you proposing, but I want you to think to yourself if you are too young, because I think you are. But if you both love eachover dearly, then go for it, but I just think you should give it a few more years.

  19. I wouldn't bother until your about 21, marriage is awhole different ball game, son. I know, I've been married 5 times in as many years.

  20. i saw this thing on tv once where this guy put will you marry me [name]? on a billboard which was really cute.

or there is the classic of taking her to a restaurant and putting a ring in a champagne glass or in the dessert haha.

  21. you can pay to put a 'will you marry me' note in a fortune cookie or you could put a ring in there or maybe both. also you could do something that has to do with her job.

  22. Don't listen to people telling you to wait, if you're sure it's what you really want then go for it !

I'm engaged myself and I think that the unexpected proposals are always the best...

I mean, don't take her out to a fancy restaurant, that's kinda cliched and everyone likes a surprise, right?

Mmmm, how about a treasure hunt thing?

Instead of clues leave her little parcels of the things she likes like her favourite sweets, a tiny photoframe with a picture of the two of you etck etck then you wait at the end with the last parcel with the ring inside it?

Or play a game in the park and tape the ring to like the ball or whatever.

    Well. I mean, that's what I'd do.

She wouldn't forget that in a hurry (:

  23. Sorry dude but wouldn't recomend it.  You guys can't even drink or smoke legally and you want to get married?? Honestly that's a bad choice at such a young age.  Today more than half marriages end in divorce.  Would you like to be amongst them??? I'm not saying marriage is a bad thing I'm just saying that you should mature into it.  I'm 24 and have been with my girlfriend for three years.  I love her very much but we still getting ready b4 the big step.  Anyway if you still want to go with it best of luck to you man.  But honestly your better off just waiting couple years more.  (Just my imput)

  24. just realize married creates more problems and stress, if you two are having a hard time no is not the time to tie the knot. however if you feel the both of you are ready this is my suggestion.

Surprise her! girls love surprises and in public or with friends/family is better ( if she is a social creature). My husband cleaned our apartment, made a romantic candle lit dinner, had a bubble bath drawn up and after when we retired the bed was covered in rose petals shaped in a heart and spelled I love you in the center. The open box was on my nightstand. He didn't have to say a word and I will always remember that day. Cater to her likes hopefully this is the only proposal so make it special for the both of you. If you can get her family to help but keep it a secret.

  25. Take her somewhere that means something to the both of you, maybe somewhere you had a memorable date or something like that, then just get down on one knee and go for it!  Be yourself, after all you are the one she is with so she loves you, ask in your own words not in a way that you think might be romantic but isn't something you would say normally!

If she loves you, it doesn't matter too much the when and where, my dad proposed to my mum next to a cabbage stall at a market and she still said yes LOL!

I wish you the best of luck, ooo so exciting!

P.S. I got engaged aged 17 and we are still together, madly in love and happy 12yrs later (well will be 12yrs on aug 10th!), so don't listen to people who say you are too young, you will know if it is right for you! ;)

  26. Mmmmmmmmmmm seventeen,i met my wife when i was twenty,i didn't get married until i was twenty eight,do you not think you should wait until your a little older to get hitched, you've got the whole of your life together, getting married puts pressure on the relationship, and as a result most young marriages end in divorce.I'm not saying you don't love her,I'm just saying get engaged, have a long engagement, move in together. As to your question, tell her you love her and then ask,no fancy stuff, bended knee and ask, simple.good luck.

  27. Wait til you're somewhere intimate, tell her what she means to you, what she brings to your life, then tell her that you want that to be forever and that's why you want to marry her.

  28. I saw this once when I lived in California. Someone hired a pilot to write in the sky 'Sheila, will you marry me". Ive always dreamed of having a proposal this way!

  29. take her sum were she loves and drop down then if u really love her u will do it !! dont worry it will be fine xxxx good luck e-mail me to let me know how it goes x

  30. BE CONFIDENT

confidence is really important in this case

you should take her somewhere really romantic or quiet and beautiful

prepare a time that you will ask her, like 12:00 midnight or something

but just be ready for it, like plan it out

but your only 17 yrs old. you're not even in college

arent u a little too young?

    well, anyways, good luck!
