Propranolol 80mg for panic/anxiety attacks

just wondering if anyone has been prescribed this medication and how they were taking them? im wary as iv read the affects!! slow heart, pulse and breathing difficulties, im not ashmatic although do smoke

  1. I tried them and they gave me more anxiety ... i felt much worse, but i was in a bad way at that time, it's a beta blocker really, doesn't build up serotonin like an ssri ... it may help the physical symptoms.

  3. I had to take them to regulate my heartbeat. No problems. If you have any worrying side effects discuss with your GP.

  4. I take them, although not for panic attacks. Honestly, I've had no problems with them at all. If you do, then stop, it's that simple.

  5. propanolol ( beta blokers agent) are a class of drugs used for various indications, but particularly for the management of cardiac arrhythmias and cardioprotection after myocardial infarction (heart attack),,,

    Propranolol is indicated for the management control of tachycardia/tremor associated with anxiety,,, and post traumatic distress disorder (experimental)

    SSRIs as first-line drug for the treatment of anxiety disorders,,, six SSRIs are citalopram, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine, sertraline and escitalopram.

    SSRIs are better tolerated than their predecessors but are not without side effects. on initiation, nausea, anxiety, jitteriness and insomnia frequently occur,, but msy be limited by titrating the dose up slowly or by short-term use of a benzodiazepine,,
