  1. I take propranolol for a fast heartbeat and I take 40mg a day. 60mg is far too much for anxiety. Propranolol is used to treat stage fright in doses of about 10 to 20mg. Do an online search for propranolol use in anxiety and stage fright but do NOT take the 60mg pill.

  2. propranolol is a powerful beta blocker and can substantially reduce heart rate and of course blood pressure. Generally Drs start with low maintenance doses of 10 mg and adjust upwards as necessary. Because it is such a strong beta blocker for high doses of propranolol, ~>50 mg ....the capsules are provided in an LA ( long acting or slow release ) form to prevent high blood titers and to allow easier "compensation " physiologically. It is advisable ( contray to what you have staed ) to review the options with a physician prior to doing anything..Self-medication with such a biologically active compound can be , well dangerous.

  3. Ask your doctor about help with your anxiety.  That is a straight answer - you're messing with a serious drug with serious side effects that has virtually NO effect on anxiety.  Decades ago, people sometimes took it for stage fright, but it is generally ineffective.

There are MUCH better treatments, pharmacological and otherwise, for anxiety and panic.

  4. This is a complex drug. I think you are playing with fire not to talk to your doctor about this drug.  Taking a prescription drug on your own can be very dangerous.

Why not talk to your doctor? If a doctor prescribed this for you the dosage would be on the bottle then you wouldn't be asking this question.  Something sounds suspicious here that you are not sharing.

  5. Ask your pharmacist. S/he should be able to answer your question.

  6. Asking the doctor is always the right option! If u dislike ur doc, go to another 1.

    NEVER self medicate!
