  1. I've never had one but a neighbour had years ago (around the time the film, Cujo came out).

IMO Cons:  very bad, expensive to feed, slobbery, like all giant breeds it could have problems with hips, etc.

Pros:  Don't know but I guess if you love giant breeds - it's a giant breed.

  2. Con: Slobbers, eats a lot, usual purebred problems with the gene pool

Pro: It can find you if there is an avalanche.

Look in your local classifieds and bigger town classifieds. Look for a local breed club and ask them.

  3. Pros:

    generally healthy

True to their heritage as hospice dogs, Saints are friendly and welcoming.

They love attention but aren't as demanding of it as some breeds.

They're intelligent and willing to please.

Only need moderate amount of exercise.

    Cons:

He's bigger dog and most bigger dog's life span is shorter.  His is 8-10 years.

They drool and their paws track in their fair share of mud. They are heavy shedders and shed, or blow, their coat twice a year.

Saint Bernards generally take longer to mature mentally. This leaves you with a very big puppy for several years.

Although Saint Bernards make wonderful family pets, they are not recommended for homes with young children, as they can unintentionally knock over and hurt small children.

    Sometimes, they are stubborn.

    Sorry, I don't have a link to a breeder.

  4. Saint Bernards ROCK!!!!!!

This is about the best breed you could ask for!! BIG gentle giants!! Just the cutest yet coolest dog EVER!! They're not illegal cause I have one.  The breeder I got mine from decided to stop breeding and my dog was in her last litter. Sorry.

    BUT

If you hurry you can get one off a breeder below!!!

    Pros:

-- Saint Bernards are great dogs!! They are very loyal, fun and loving. Although this is a big breed they will do fine in apartment and any size yard. Saints are not too active and will always be ready to go a walk when you want too. They are great with other pets of the family.

    Cons:

-- Yes these dogs do drool, but only after drinking or eating. As most big breeds these dogs get problems including heart disease,  hip and elbow dysplaysia.  St. Bernards grow rapidly in the first year or so, and sometimes very awkwardly

  5. Pros: they're affectionate, sweet, and love to play

Cons: they slobber alot, can have health problems (but what species of dog can't?), and are a little bit more pricy to feed.

Personally I love big dogs, such as German Shepherds, Pitbulls, Mastiffs, Great Danes, and Saint Bernards.
