Talking about 2000 and up. Not talking about the Z06 or anything like that, but whats the pros and cons of a Corvette Coup? More so the cons because we all know the pros.

I've heard alot of issues with the overall fit. That theres hardly any room and the whole thing just feels like "box on a wheel". The handly is unimpressive and the ride is bumpy and terrible? I've always wondered how is the fit when your in one? Good for long rides?!?

Anyways who wants 10 POINTS answer my question.

  1. i think you're very missinformed.. i have a 2001 c5 convertble. i think it very comportable and easy to get into and out of. not like the old ones. plenty of power and it handles like its on rails.. not boxie at all.  i've taken mine to vegas 3 times and up into northen ca. twice. not counting all the rides to here and there.... its nice to drive and my back does not hurt after a long ride. i spent 11 hours in it on one trip and i was fine. mine does not rattle or squeek and the only problem i've had was with the fuel gauge.  i dont like the tires wearing so fast and they are not cheap to replace but, its a bitchen car and i'de recommend it to anyone that had the want for it !

  2. For better answers you may want to ask your question in one the Corvette forums or in a newsgroup.  Your answers will come from people that, more than likely, own and drive Vettes.

    www.corvetteforum.com, www.digitalcorvettes.com just a couple to try.

  3. I know a couple corvette owners, and lets just say they are a crowd to themselves haha.  Some things I have heard:  The newer body corvettes, maybe 06 and newer are even smaller inside, than the 00-.  The ride is bumpy on the freeway, and the interior is the same as any G.M. product.  Look at your a/c controls, k***s, handles and buttons, same as a pickup or van.

If you can do without the brute V8 torque in a tiny fiberglass car, than perhaps a base model porsche? Comfortable, better handling, and if you get an old Turbo, than you can laugh at all corvettes all day long.

  4. I'm 6'4" 220lbs and I fit very comfortably into the driver's seat, more so than any other sports/super car I've been in. The trunk has a lot of room for a sports car as well. GM used to make kickass ATs but now they just suck, do not get AT. (The only reason I considered it was for my daily driver. So Cal rush hour traffic is a pain in the *** with a MT) The handling is very responsive I don't know where you got that from.

The only con you got right was the bumpy ride, but I kind of prefer that, I like to "feel" the road. Also the interior is ****. Plastic falling apart everywhere, window motors dieing, but that's about it as far as cons go. I'd rather have a kickass sports car with S****y interior than a luxury car anyday, but that's just me.

If you're looking for a powerful cruiser, for "long rides" I don't recommend it. But if you're looking for a rush and don't mind sacrificing a little comfort for raw power than this is the best car you can get for your money, period.
