I have a cell phone with verizon wireless and I am thinking of going with a PDA, a Blackberry probably. What are the pros and cons of this? Is it true the email program on the phone does not work with free email like yahoo?

  1. Windows capable phones (q9c, 6900, 6800, Treo 700wx, 5800) allow you to pay per usage on your data plans, other wise they range from 29.99 - 44.99, depending n the phone. They also freeze and run slowly if you don't delete your running programs or download too much content on the phone.

Blackberries on vzw require a $29.99 data package, there is no way to pay per usage.

Yes, it does disable the usage of a free yahoo account. =( You can get a free blackberry e-mail and fwd your yahoo e-mails to that. Annoying, YES.

Personally, Blackberries are the way to go!

Oh yes! Not many phones are available in the store for replacement purposses. Blackberries - occasionally! But MOST Windows devices have to specially ordered

  2. I can tell you pros, that with verizon you have GOOD signal/internet almost anywhere you go.  As far as a pda, you ight as well go ahead and go with a Curve instead of a pearl....simply because the curve is bigger and newer with Verizon.  I have both a regular cell phone (work) with verizon as well as the blackberry pearl.  I am content all the way around.

I have 7email accounts set up on my pearl (yahoo, hotmail, aol, insight) and no problems checking all of those accounts on my phone.

  3. Not to mention, the big con of Verizon is that it's network isn't nearly as good as Sprint.  I'm a over the road trucker... I had  a partner that had Verizon... The signal was horrid, where as I have only found a few spots where mine won't work.  And my free yahoo acct. works on my Palm 755
