  1. You never get to be absent for no aparent reason.

  2. PROS: you learn at your own pace; your teachers are your parents; you spend all your days with your siblings; you stay at home all the time; you can do anything you want at whatever time of the day.

CONS: you learn at your own pace; your teachers are your parents; you spend all your days with your siblings; you stay at home all the time; you can do anything you (or your mother wants you to do) at whatever time of the day.  It's harder to make friends and you won't have a prom.

  3. Home school is only as strong as the instructor. If the parent is knowledgeable and capable than it could be great. Unfortunately, most parents lack adequate knowledge to take on this daunting task. What they end up doing is over stressing their own strengths, and under teaching subjects they are uncomfortable or weak with.

As far as regular school. It too varies greatly. Some schools are best in the nation and can really nurture the needs of the students. Other however, are drastically under funded and incapable of educating top students.

    cheers.

  4. pros:flexible schedule, graduate early, get up late(hehe),and you dont have to be locked up in a class room all day with creeps you dont like.

    cons:you never get a sick day,unless it's a reeeally bad sickness...lol

  5. I'm homeschooled and in high school (junior this year).

I'm not going to sit here and lie--it has it's pros and cons. However, it does have more pros than cons.

The only con I can think of would be that it is a bit more challenging to make friends. It's not impossible..it just takes more work since you aren't thrown into a classroom filled with kids every day.

The list of pros goes on forever.

I can learn at my own pace which means I can take extra time if I need it or move on if I learn something quickly. I have TONS of free time. I can do the things I want and take up new hobbies because I'm not stuck at school for 8 hrs. a day. I can go places, do things, and spend more time with friends since school doesn't take as long. I can learn the things I want to learn and find the curriculum that fits me best so that I'm learning it the way that's best for me to learn it.

    Hope that helps ;-)

  6. Pros: You get to learn at your own pace, and if something is confusing to you, you dont have to be embarassed to ask.. the teacher is ur mom or dad! another thing is that you dont have to get up and get ready for school. if you dont do your homework, you cant get a detention! and you dont have to dress to impress anybody. also, u have TONS of freeeeeeeee time. you can pretty much take a break from school whenever you want. and if u get sick, you dont miss out on anything big.. lastly,, NO 1ST DAY OF SCHOOL JITTERS! you dont have to get all scared and OMG about the first day of school.. its just at ur house!

Cons: the whole high school experience! going to school with your friends, flirting with guys, having fun a school events, all that stuff. and also, you might lack friends. no high school proms or yearbooks to look back at when your 50 either... and also, if you wanna be on a school baseball, basketball, cheerleading, gymnastics... any type of school based team, you cant be on it. also if you decide to be homeschooled you are deciding one on one teaching. if you like all that attention, then go for it! i dont like one on one very much to tell the truth.

    =DD
