  1. It honestly depends on what you consider "pros" and "cons." For instance as a broadcast journalist, I love shooting all of my own video and being responsible for all of my own content, while others need producers and camera operators.

Honestly, the times are changing and this is a strange time to be a journalist. In the very near furture, there will be no such thing as "print journalists" or "broadcast journalists". Everyone will be all-in-one. That means they pay is about to get even crappier, the work load heavier, and the hours more sporadic.

Being a journalist does not pay well, is hard, not glamorous, and you don't get famous like many people like to think. But it's exciting as heck, especially in these changing times.

Bottom line, make sure it's something you love before getting into it, because for most people the cons do indeed outweigh the pros.

  2. pros; pretty good work if you can do it.

cons; you have to sell your immortal soul to the left

  3. send a collum to a newspaper they might post  it in the news paper

  4. Pro:  You can sometimes work at your own pace and make your own hours.

Con:  Extremely difficult to find a job out of school.  Mostly freelance until you make a name for yourself. Very competitive to get a steady gig at a newspaper or mag.

  5. Pros: Most fun job in the world, you do something different every day, and get to participate in the history making process.

Cons: It's a thankless job for very little pay. There's a lot of competition. And you're supposed to be unbiased, but if you write a story that has both sides in it, then both sides accuse you of pandering to the other side...that gets tiring sometimes.
