  1. pros: they will call you "eazy rider", cons: you will probably wish you bought a motorcycle.  milage excellent, in some circles considered very s**y. parking usually easier than a car. unless yo have covered parking, rain will age them quickly, hader to carry up a flight of stairs, but won't take up much room in your kitchen.

  2. The burgman man has no idea what he is talking about there are several 50 and 125cc motor scooters  for about 2k out the door that will fill your needs and get up to 100mpg+. Look at kymco and genuine they are very fine scooters and are not imported junk. A 50cc Kymco is about that price many people get over a  hundred miles  per gallon it will run 35 to 40 mph and if you just run on surface streets that will get you there it has plenty of storage space. Also scooters are  becoming very fashionable now.

  3. The biggest con to riding a scooter is you lose your dignity while on one...but some people don't mind, or don't have any dignity to lose in the first place.

  4. Depends on the Size of the engine. My Suzuki Burgman has a 400 cc engine and will do 90MPH,  85 Two up.

It weighs about 400lbs. and gets 60 Miles per Gallon or more.

There are even bigger 650cc  scooters that will do Over 100MPH.

These are VERY good dependable bikes. I would not waste money on anything under 250cc. They are way too slow, so they are dangerous on the highway because they can not keep up with traffic.  Look for a good used 250cc or bigger and you will be much more happy with the experience. Also stick with a Major brand name only. There is a LOT of JUNK no name brands being sold that will not last long when used to any extent.

  5. Pros

    (1) fun

    (2) save gas money

    Cons

    (1) slow

    (2) more dangerous than a car

    (3) more dangerous than a bicycle.

    Good luck...
