Pros and cons of conformity?

I have Psychology 101, and need to know the pros and cons of conformity that was studied by Soloman Asch. please help-seriously

Pros: conformity...everyone acting alike...smoother running society, easier to reach consensus in a group meeting

Cons: harder to generate new ideas, change is harder when everyone is thinking alike....hard to see that the solution is wrong if everyone is saying the same thing.....

Pros: You always know exactly what you're getting. You won't encounter people with different viewpoints or religious beliefs.

Cons: Crushes individuality and creativity. Creates a boring society where everybody is alike and there is little variety among the people.
