  1. Pros-

You get to meet new great friendly people

You will get super healthy and stronger

You will be proud of yourself for trying something new

You will get faster and better at running

It is really fun and I love it!

    Cons-

    It is tiring

You might be sore for a while

    It is hard work

You run a lot like miles after miles

It takes up alot of time

I am sure you will do great! Since you are new, ask questions if you are confused, and be friendly. Just do your best!!!

    Good luck darling!

  2. Pros:

    You get physically fit.

Finishing a long run for the first time is a GREAT feeling even if it doesn't feel like it while you're running.

It teaches you to become mentally stronger.

XC teams are usually very close so you make friends pretty easily.

I got really close to my coach too.  It's like a second family.

    Cons:

Takes up a lot of your time.

First getting into it can be hard (but don't give up!)

    Injuries occur pretty often.

If you don't hydrate yourself well, you can get dehydrated pretty fast especially in warmer weather.

  3. I was very nervous when I started as a freshman since everybody was older, but It turned out to be great andI love it. It can be very tiring and hot while racing but coming in the finish makes you feel so good to have completed it.

  4. Well it depends on how much effort you're willing to put into it and if you like running or not. If you haven't been training before hand then you're most likely at a disadvantage. People with experience usually run months before their actual practice starts.

    Pros- gets you physically fit

            gives you something to do

lets you be with your friends

            joy of improving and competing

Cons- have to put time and effort into it

             less free/homework time

             shin splints/cramps/stress
