Pros and cons to repair/replace cast iron radiators & hot water heat to "forced air?

I am running into cracked pipes and several cracked cast iron radiators during a review of an old house heating system. There are also cracked added copper pipes in perimeter walls at the front porch.

How deep to I go before I abort the hot water idea, and go with the ideology of "forced air" in conjunction with my AC installation. Please see my other question about FREON system upgrades. THANK YOU!
