My son will be 8 in November, I am due in April. I wanted another baby and we actually got pregnant the first month...but I've been concerned about the age difference. I worry they won't ever have a real brother/brother or brother/sister relationship.....any advice to help the bond or any pros to my son being so much older

  1. Ok, i am 14 and my lil bro is 6, we have a real brother-brother relationship, it has nothing to do with the age as long as they have brotherly, er.. sisterly love.

  2. my kids are 20, 12 (13 in Sept), 11 (12 in Nov) and 7 mo's. My oldest was a HUGE help with number 2 and number 3.  They all help out with number 4.  They enjoy making her laugh and they can usually amuse her pretty good so that i can fix dinner, take a shower, make a phone call.  Personally, i wouldn' t do it any other way.

  3. My sister and I are 8 years apart and I have a brother that is 10 years older then me too. When I was little it was always nice having older siblings because the definitely took very good care of me and were very protective over me also. There were a few times in my life, like high school for example that they were off living there lives and weren't even around very much. Once I got out of High school we got very close again and still are to this day, they are some of my best friends. I don't think the age difference will be bad at all!
