Prosciutto pronunciation?

Is it pronounced "prosciutto" (pra shoot toe) or just "prosciut" (pra shoot). I have heard it pronounced by Italian people as just "pra shoot", they leave off the end. Please explain this to me, any Italians out there?? What's correct?

if you would USE the dictionary Yahoo provides FREE from the toolbar...

you would find there is a little yellow speaker that says the proper pronunciation..

yes im italian (pro-shoo-toe) but roll your pro like purr-o, in some sicilian dialects and southern dialects, they chop vowles off. its the same thing though. theyll know what you mean if you say the above, or "pro-shoot"
