Question:

Proscout Modeling? True or not?

I have read a lot of questions about this and people say ProScout is a SCAM because it charges you money...

I went to an open call and was selected to go to the Event in Philidelphia. It costs $795 not including hotel. I REALLY want to go.

At the meeting they talked about scams and how NEVER to have to pay for an agent etc. At this event you learn things the first day, then the second day we meet with the agents and have the possibility of getting scouted.

is this worth it? has anyone been to a proscout event before?

  1. The odds of you being signed are remote.  If you want to spend money on being a model learn how to apply make-up, how to dress, how to stand and walk.  Spend the money on  a picture portfolio from a professional photographer.  Do more research on modeling, what it takes to get into it, and the qualifications.  From the web site below:

The Internet is full of warnings regarding businesses that milk models dry without any intention of finding them work. The Department of Consumer Affairs has issued clear-cut guidelines for those people interested in navigating the model agencies icy waters.

One consumer writes, "They are over-priced schools. They pretend to be an agency so they can convince young girls to fork out thousands of dollars in pictures and training. The Barbizon proscout scam classes aren't really teaching anyone what they really need to know.

If you want to get into modeling, that's fine.  But if you're not careful it can cost you thousands of dollars for nothing.  Take it slow and know what you're doing and who you're doing it with.
