Can you recommend a highly humorous piece of fiction for a first-person male speaker?

I guess I have to explain this because apparently last time I asked the question some people were confused.

FIRST PERSON: "When I was young, I'd go to the park every day."

THIRD PERSON: "Peter walked up to baby and made baby noises. Suddenly, Peter was hit by a truck."

Now, which one is in First person?

a) "I am a thirty-three year old man applying for a job as an elf."

b) "Peter is a thirty-three year old man applying for a job as an elf."

If you answered b)...

YOU ARE WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. The correct answer is choice a), because it utilizes the personal pronoun "I."

Step right up, folks, step right up... please, for the love of God, I'm desperate...

  1. Any of Chuck Palahnuiks novels excluding rant, and invisable monsters. (the latter is nararated by a girl, still a great book, though.  Rant is written as a collection of interviews about the main character, and besides, it really blew. ) Choke and Fight Club are HILARIOUS and written in the form you desire.

  2. "Knock Down The Poor!" by Charles Baudelaire, included in his volume "Paris Spleen."

There are some sections of Arthur Rimbaud's "A Season In h**l," which are also terribly funny.
