Prospect Wells and Midnight Game bring excitement to the William Hill Supreme Novices’ Hurdle
Coupled with Ruby Walsh, Prospect Wells is all set to compete in the William Hill Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, scheduled to take place on 13th March, 2012, at Cheltenham.
Walsh being the odds-on favourite top jockey in the Cheltenham Festival is already expected to deliver a high class performance.
Prospect Wells, the seven-year-old has an impressive racing record, and the bookmakers will be watching his performance closely. The fact that he is trained by the world-renowned Paul Nicholls adds to the expectation that this horse will deliver an
outstanding race.
The son of Sadler’s Wells, out of mare Brooklyn’s Dance, finished in fourth place in his most recent race in the Grade 1 32red Hurdle Novices’ Hurdle (Registered As The Tolworth Hurdle Race), which took place at Sandown on 7th January,
2012.
Trained by Willie Mullins, Midnight Game will also compete in this race with the odds of 10 to 1.
Mullins was not pleased with his runner’s previous performance as he said in an interview that "The race has always been Midnight Game's target and I've always thought that better ground would suit him. However, I have to warn everyone that he didn't
sparkle in his last bit of work and that is a bit of a concern."
The son of Montjeu, out of mare Midnight Angel, bagged a victory in his seasonal debut which he raced as a joint favourite. He defeated, Dylan Ross, by 2 ¼ lengths in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Irish Racing Writers Novice Hurdle
at Naas on 21st January, 2012.
19 runners will be competing in this race across 2 miles and 110 yards. The same number of runners will be competing in the Grade 3 JLT Specialty Handicap Chase, scheduled to take place later on the same day.
Quantitativeeasing and Hold On Julio will be competing in this race, all prepared to battle it out for a finish in the first place.
Quantitativeeasing, son of Anshan, out of mare Mazuma, was triumphant in the closing race of 2011, where he defeated, Medermit, by ¾ of a length in the Grade 1 Spinal Research The Atlantic 4 Gold Cup Handicap Chase at Cheltenham on 10th
December, 2011.
Trained by Alan King, Hold On Julio’s previous performance was just as commendable. He bagged a victory in the 32red.com HBLB Handicap Chase at Sandown on 7th January, 2012, where he defeated, Neptune Collonges, by a huge margin
of 9 lengths.
With some of the best horses prepared to race, the first day of the Cheltenham Festival is bound to be a success.
