    It's a ratio scale because a ratio of 2 such variables is valid -- for example, 4 jobs *is* twice as many as 2, so a ratio of 4 jobs/2 jobs is valid.

    There are very few things that are interval data -- the only common one (I can think of) is temperature on the fahrenheit or celsius scales. 100 degrees is not twice as much heat as 50 degrees, so ratios of temperature (using those scales) give nonsensical results. Ergo, kelvin.
