Prosper.com, Can Canadians borrow and lend on this site?

Question

I've just recently learned about prosper.com and have been looking over the site, but without trying to sign up yet or anything I'm even wondering if this is available to Canadians?

From the FAQ section at prosper.com;

"A Prosper borrower is any person who is a U.S. resident with a credit score of at least 520, a bank account, and a social security number. ."

There is work to create Canadian equivelents, but there are legal issues in so far as which government bodies have jurisdiction and what steps the service has to take to ensure it is in compliance with Canadian Law.
