Protecting a touch screen phone?

Question

I have a LG Vu http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phone-details/?device=LG+VU(TM)&q_sku=sku2490219 and I don't really want one of the invisible shield things, I'm more concerned about protecting the touch pad while its in my purse and getting a little knocked around. I don't want the touch sensor to get ruined.

I was thinking of getting one of these:

but none of these really cover the screen, any suggestions?

im not sure. but i was looking for the same thing...

You can get a silicon case when you have it in your purse.  Put the phone on hold when its in there and get those plastic screen protectors that you stick on.  ATT should have some in the accessories department.
