  1. I sold on EBAY for years. Make sure you follow all rules to the T. When you send something, send it insured, pack it right and get signature confirmation. Make sure the buyers address matches the payment address in PAYPAL. Never accept checks. Wait 10 business days for money orders or cashiers checks to clear and do not ship product till they do. Never do a deal outside of EBAY. Do not let the buyer try to swindle a lower price or pay under the table. Take good pictures of your objects and list in great detail the description in the auction. When you sell something high dollar, do a member search and request the personal info on the EBAY website. It includes name, numbers etc.

  2. Yes follow the rules of both ebay and paypal.

Paypal is great in that they can and do protect you. First of all, you are not suppose to ship an item to an "unconfirmed address", and if you only ship to confirmed addresses PP will protect you.  Also, without a doubt, make sure you get delivery confirmation or some sort of tracking number, because if a buyer claims they did not receive an item PP comes straight to you and wants proof.  They will not protect you if you do  not have any proof of shipping.

It is ok to accept money orders, especially if it is a POSTAL money order.  These cannot be fakes or immitations.  But no, personal checks.  If you do, and it bounces, you get charged like a $20. fee with your own bank! It is not worth it!

Also, if you are a little leary about it... don't sell things to other countries.
