Protein Consumtion Before or After Exercise?

I am trying to get more muscular, and I was just wondering, I know I need a lot of protein, but should i eat it mostly before or after i exercise?

Any Tips? Rules?

  1. Many of my friends are body builders, and I was a regular at the gym just at adding lots of mass.  What i truly liked to do was drink a serving of muscle milk roughly 30-40 minutes before my workout.  Followed by a protein shake to help muscle recovery roughly also 20-40 minutes after my workout.  The results were really good for me.  I also just asked a few of my friends about this recently also, and they tend to do the same.  My body builder friends even insist on eating peanut butter before you go to bed for better muscle recovery.  

    Again, you don't need to take it before you work out, its more important before you work out though that you had something to eat as a form of energy, but definitely needed after to help muscle recovery.

    I also suggest to take some protein in the morning when waking up. Its shown to help with muscle growth and body recovery.
