Question:

Protein for a Vegetarian?

Im a vegetarian, and Im not sure Im getting enough protein. I usually get from about 8-20 grams a day.

Ive also read that the more active you are, the more protein you need. I do colorguard every day, and I have 2 horses and ride often. I run every day too.

I eat tofu, beans, veggie burgers, nuts and soybeans, but does anyone know of any more ways to get protein? Are there any supplements or something I could take?

  1. try adding a tasteless protein supplement to the milk in your cereal, you can also have vanilla and strawberry flavored supplements. These are available at your local pharmacy.

  2. Eggs.

  3. i get my protein from eggs or egg beaters, cheese, peanut butter. try some of those.

  4. There are supplements but I'm Irish so I'm sori that I don't no any but there's some foods that can give you protein nuts, soya beans and some seeds as well. I hope I helped!

  5. "I usually get from about 8-20 grams a day."

I can't see myself believing that.

Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts and seeds are all good sources of protein.

How often do you eat tofu, beans, veggie burgers, nuts and soybeans? I can't imagine anyone including all of those in their diet and having a problem getting enough protein.
