Protein shakes when taking a break?

While lifting weights I lift one day, then the next day I don't lift any to take a break. I just started using a protein shake, cytosport muscle milk to be exact, and I was wondering if I should still drink it on the days I take a break and don't lift any or if I should just drink it on the days I lift.

  1. Yes, your muscles are still repairing and your protein intake needs to be kept up. Dont forget a good protein packed meal such as tuna or steak will suffice if your getting fed up of the shakes. Its also important on these rest days to get some carbs as this will provide your body for the next days lifts.
