Question:

Protestant area in (London)Derry?

I'm aware the catholic neighbourhood in Derry is called BOGANSIDE, but what's the name of the Protestant one? can't remember...something endind with -SIDE, too.

  1. The area you mean in Londonderry is Waterside, it did used to be predominently Protestant but it is more or less 50/50 now.


  2. Derry or Doire as its original name was, is not Londonderry.Maybe we should come to England and call London DerryLondon and see how the english feel about that.

  3. You'll find that the Cityside has the majority of RC living in it apart from the Fountain which is within the city walls, where Protestants live.  

    The waterside is across the bridge and is mainly mixed, but does have pockets of one religion of the other being the main inhabitants.  

    Try looking at wikipedia - it has lots of information or Stormount which is the government for Northern Ireland - they may be able to help you with census information.
