Protesting Schools in Chicago ?

But it is very short and pathetic, do you guys have others or know more about why the protests are starting now instead of latter and what was the final straw and a direction for me to research and verify this.

It is a stunt arranged by Rev. James Meeks (a Jeremiah Wright act-alike) to highlight funding discrepancies between Chicago and suburban schools.  The State of Illinois provides some funding for public schools, but the majority of funds still come from property taxes.

In a way Meeks is right about what he is doing

what he is trying to show is that officials dont want lower class kids at their schools

this is why they wont listen to his purposals.

obama doesnt want lower class blacks at the school his kids go to.

Would not say it is a stunt, if you are not going to a magnet school (Schools with Special funding for the Wealthy Children, Politician's Children, and a select few tokens), then you are entering a school system that is p**s poor (public AND private).

Basically Rev Meeks is highlighting this fact and the fact that the Suburbs have much better schooling because of their wealth.
