Protocal is not supported?

When I try to play a song I get the following message: Playback engine cannot play the file because the specified protocal is not supported. What do I do to fix this?

There are a lot of free music file converters you can download.  Usually your player will list the types of formats it will support.  Some have add ons you can get to increase the number.
