Question:

Protocol when going to a nude beach?

Recently I was reading an article in a magazine about a guys first time going to a nude beach with his girlfriend. My GF saw me reading it and asked if I would ever consider going to a nude beach. I said I would and the next thing I knew she said ok lets go next weekend. Neither of us has ever done this so now I am wondering what it the proper protocol. Do we strip down as soon as we get on the beach or set up our base and then strip? Do we stay naked the whole time we are there? Is it proper to apply suntan lotion to each other especially in those areas not usually exposed to the sun? Should we talk to other people or just keep to ourselves? If a guy has a "smooth" body will people find that strange? My GF will wear a bikini to and from the beach and wants me to wear one of my swim team speedos. Is that acceptable? Any info I can get will be appreciated.

  1. We take what we need in a couple of back packs.  Then we set up out area, then strip off.  Need to empty the packs to make room for our clothes.  Bring food, water, towels, ground cloth, head wear, sunblock.

Leave the alcohol at home, along with the camera and dog.

Leave the speedo at home.  A speedo is the g*y trademark on nude beaches.

What's the point of going to a nude beach, if not to be nude?  Unless you're a pervert.

    Don't gawk or stare.

NO sexual behavior of any kind.  The beach regulars WILL confront you.  Remember that nude beaches are family places.  You fool around, or walk past a family with an erection, you might not leave the beach in one piece.

Body hair doesn't matter one way or another, no one will care.

Apply your sunblock to yourselves.  You can do each other's back, and leave it at that.  Otherwise it will usually be construed as sexual behavior.

Absolutely talk to others, nudists are a very friendly bunch.  Just maintain eye contact.

  2. The best thing is to not go. Why would you want a bunch of complete strangers seeing everything you have. They are called private parts for a reason, they are supposed to be kept private, unless your in the bedroom with your girlfriend or wife.

  3. Go and have a good time.  I think it is great that you are both open to nude recreation.  I'm sure you'll find your nude experience to be the best beach experience you've had.

As for your questions, you're overthinking things a little too much.  Nude becasue aren't places to go and look at people.  That doesn't mean you have to keep your head down at all times, but generally people won't be checking you out and you should refrain from checking others out.  That said, though, you should be friendly with those around you and enjoy yourselves as you would on any beach.

You'll see people of all shapes and sizes on the beach.  Respect them and they'll respect you.  No one will care if you are smooth or au naturale or anywhere inbetween.

As for clothing, wear whatever you're comfortable wearing.  Since some parts of your body probably aren't used to sun exposure be sure to apply lots of sunscreen to those areas (and when applying it to private areas, do it yourself, not to each other as that might be consdered inappropriate behavior by some) and don't leave them uncovered for too long until you've been a few times and gotten used to it.  Most "nude" beches are actually clothing optional so you can feel free to wear as much or as little as you are comfortable wearing at any given time.

I've been going to nude beches for several years now.  I don't generally wear a bikini to the nude bech, instead I just wear a pair of shorts and a tank top.  Depending on the beach, if I can park near the nudist area I'll often strip in the parking lot and leave my clothes in the car.  If I have to walk a ways to get to the nude area then the clothes comes off *** soon as I reach it.  Sometimes only the tank top goes back on for the drive home. :)

  4. Yeah, wear clothes or at least cover up on the way, lol.

Set up shop before stripping down, but one time my bud just tore it off as soon as he stepped on, lol.

You can talk to ppl and have fun, it's the beach! XD Not talking would be creepier in my opinion... like you're staring at people and afraid to talk to them cause you're guilty of staring at them... :[

  5. Do whatever you want no one cares, they've been there done that, just remember to keep your eyes at eye level...

  6. Most of the beaches I've gone to I've had to walk some distance to get to the nude area. Only when I was hot spring hopping in California was I ever in the position to walk nude right from my vehicle. I generally wait to find a spot and get somewhat set-up before I get naked. That takes all of about 5 minutes. Most people don't care what order of operation you take. Most beaches are clothing-optional anyway, so undoubtedly there will be others on the beach nude, topless, bottomless, or wearing a swimsuit. You don't need the Speedo, regular trunks are OK, if you really want to wear a Speedo go right ahead. Your GF might want to wear a bikini, especially if you venture off the nude area, or it takes her some time to adjust. That's fine. Several of my old GFs or female friends I've taken to nude beaches/clubs wore or brought a swimsuit in case they needed time to adjust. I can't remember any of them who ever spent more than 5 minutes at our destination with their clothing on. I'm sure both of you will have a great time. Nudists are very friendly people, for the most part, don't be afraid to strike up conversation with people you meet. Don't be afraid to ask experienced nudists questions if you have them. We love helping out newbies. Have fun!!!

  7. The beaches where I've been were "clothing optional" and about 85-90 percent are naked otherwise they'd have gone to a textile beach.  You'll need shorts and shirt so that there will be pockets for wallet and keys, and a tote bag to put it all into after you arrive on the beach.  If you avoid wearing the speedos you can begin to get rid of those tan lines.  I'm usually out of my clothes fairly soon after passing the "clothing optional" sign and put them back on again before passing the sign again on the way out,  but some change after staking out their territory.

Do as you like.  Don't hesitate to speak and engage in casual conversation.  Smooth or trimmed will be fine.  Be extra careful about those areas that have not been exposed to the sun.  Clothing optional beaches are "family friendly" and suitable for all ages.  It is not a sexual thing.  Take along things suitable for the occasion; football, frisbie etc will be good if you are at a beach that isn't too crowded, otherwise have lunch and rest.  Some people even play cards or read a book.  Don"t stare at people and leave the camera at home.
