they say all matter i nth universe is made up of these 3 but if only 3 things make up our world why is there so much variety in the world

is it becasue our senses 'create' a world in our brains based on things like how light enters our eyes, so even if the universe is made up 3 things ultimately our sense are responsible for creating our perception of realty

isn't the human mind truly amazing?

  1. There are more things than protons, neutrons and electrons, but leaving that aside, the answer to your question has nothing to do with the senses and the mind, and everything to do with the properties of the elementary particles when they are combined in various ways.  If a proton and an electron combine they form hydrogen; but if eight protons and eight neutrons combine with eight electrons orbiting them, the result is a oxygen atom.  Hydrogen, oxygen, and other elements like iron and sulfur have different properties due to their composition regardless of how a mind perceives them; these properties are as they are, independent of the activity within an observer's brain.

  2. It's The Combination Of These Things That Give Rise To Complexity.

Not All Visible Matter Is Made from Various Combination's Of Proton Neutrons And Electrons.   There Is Antimatter To Consider For Example.  Also, These Elementary Particles You Have Mentioned Are Made Up Of Quarks.  So There Is A Finer Grain To Things.

There Is Also Dark Matter (It Might Be Dark Energy, But Let's Not Quibble That Right Now).  It's Called Dark Because, Right Now, We Can't Detect It Directly.  It Doesn't Give Off Any Radiation We Can "See".  We Detect It Through It's Effects On Matter We Can See.

Indeed, It Is Our Senses That Give Rise To The Perception Of Reality.  While There Certainly Is Stuff Out There, If It Were Not For Our Senses To Receive And Our Brains To Interpret, We Would Have No Knowledge Of Anything Outside Of Ourselves.  If That.  So Yes, All Reality Is, In A Semi-Literal Sense, In Our Minds;)

So Yeah, Our Minds Are Truly Amazing ;)
