Proud to be Pakistani?

Okie am I missing something here?? What exactly is there to be proud of??

How can someone be proud of that run-down, stuck-in-the-stone-age country with a corrupt government??

I don't mean any offense to Pakistanis, I am one myself, but honestly what is there to be proud of??!

nothing really....thats right Pakistan is one messed up country.....but we are still Pakistanis and will remain Pakistanis....n its the 14th tom....so i dont think it should be a big deal to say 'i am proud of my country' for a day......because no matter what we are Pakistanis after all

you know what, when i read your question " Proud to be Pakistani ", i was about to say exactly what you have written above! I am so not proud to be a Pakistani... sometimes i feel like callling myself a Saudi ( i live in Saudi Arabia)... I so dont feel good calling myself a Pakistani.. I so dont want to belong to a murderer country with thieves as politicians and decoration pieces as a Government.

Its not about the pro's and cons or the corrupt goverment!

its about celebrating the spirit of the people that never give up!

On my last trip to Pakistan a car overturned the curb and landed upside down. Within seconds the shoulder of the highway was filled with people rushing to the over turned car trying to help the people on the car!

And what about the earthquake that came as a result of the tsunami a while back? People came toghther!

Its not about celebrating the country itself but what the people in the country are capable of.

Pakistan is my country. it has its pros and cons. I agree with whatever you have written. I'm NOW not proud of my country as to whatever is happening here, but still happy for the independence. Atleast living on a muslim land where there is Adhan in the air 5 times daily. ~!
