I finished my last pill of provera 8 days ago today and I am very...worried because I have no signs of getting a period anytime soon. How long should it take to start a period? I have heard up to 10 days then I have heard up to 14 days. I am taking this because of PCOS and I have to get a period on provera so that I can start clomid. I am worried that the provera isnt going to work. Any advice would be very....helpful! Thanks so much!

  1. I took me 10 days. I was wondering if it was even going to work. Just try to hang in there and if you don't start within 14 days call your doctor.

  2. OMG the same thing happened to me this month.. I have been ttc for 2 years and finally my dr put me on Clomid.  I took all 10 pills and I didnt get my period til 2 weeks after. I was worried so I called my dr. and she said it was perfectly normal :).  I just finished my second cycle of clomid.  The first cycle my Progesterone level was .06 :( I'm realy hpoing this will be it.... Good luck and lots and lots of baby dust to both of us :)

  3. took me 6 days after provera to start, and then i had AF for 6 full days , ugh.

  4. Same thing just happened to me, the first 2 times I took provera I got my period within 48 hours of the last pill, and this last time I took the provera and 6 days later absolutly no signs of my period coming anytime soon, so I started taking my temp and it was climbing instead of going down for AF to arrive. I took a pregnancy test and got a BFP....now I am 4 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I am not trying to get your hopes up, it is just one possible reason for your period not starting. But I have heard from others (including my fertility specialist) that it can take up to 14 days for AF to start. I say wait a couple more days if you still have no signs of a period try a hpt, what can it hurt.  I wish you the best!
