It has been 14 days since my last provera pill. I went to the hospital last night and they told me that I had a bladder infection could that have anything thing to do with the provera no working yet? Also, a lady told me that her period never came from provera so her doc told her that it would be ok to start clomid anyway. Is that true? Should I go ahead and start clomid or wait a few more days and start provera again? What would be the cause of provera not working? Any ideas? Please help if you can, very worried! Thanks

  1. Hello, I have had a few experiences with provera (working and not working).  Here is a little insight.  When I was underweight and my periods stopped altogether, I took provera and it did not work.  I did not have a withdrawal bleed.  The doctors told me my body was barely producing any estrogen at all (a full panel of blood tests confirmed this).  So, my body did not have enough estrogen to build up a uterine lining, so when I took the provera, there was no lining to "shed."  After I gained weight, and took provera again, I had a withdrawal bleed.  This means that my body, after gaining weight, started to produce estrogen.

Are you underweight at all??  Your body may not be building up a lining.  I am not sure about the clomid part.  I hope this helps.  Good luck, and never give up!!

  2. Provera would always bring down a period, but you should wait another week or so. I took 3 rounds of clomid and it has not work for me, I have a apptmnt to see a specialists maybe this will. But good luck and take care..
