Providing internet to computers and Xbox 360.?

Question

I use my laptop and desktop in the family room of our family house while my son uses the internet in the basement to play xbox live. If he moves the modem and wireless adapter, I lose my ability to access the internet unless I go down to the basement. Is there any feasible solutions so that he could have internet in the basement constantly thus leaving the wireless router and modem in the family room where it belongs? Thank You.

i would add a long wired connection, but thats me.

set the pc as a access/router  to the internet then slave the xbox thru the pc

the MS site for xbox should have ideas
