  1. Thats right you can apply before you are 17 you will just be counting down the days for your birthday to arrive then happy days

  2. I'm 66 now and I did exactly that, on the form I had in 1959, it said what date do you want the licence to run from, and I put down the 7th of March which was my 17th birthday.

I passed my test on the 17th of October that year, what a co-incidence!!

  3. Nooooope thats true....xx

  4. You can apply for your provisional licence before you're 17th birthday, but you cannot drive with it, you have to be 17. It also takes a couple of weeks for it to arrive.

  5. Lol @ Proviginal.

Yes, you can apply for it a few months before your 17th.

  6. yeah... cause as soon as it comes you'll be 17... its alright to...

  7. It is a provisional licence and you can apply for it up to 3 months prior to your 17th.

  8. its true because my sis done it :D

    good luck with driving

  9. Yes you can, and sooner. I turned 17 in June a couple of years ago. And I applied for my provisional licence before Christmas!! I wrote on the form for it to start on the 1st Jan (just to look pretty).

It all came through within a week or two, no problems at all.

And....... I thought you needed one to ride a moped at 16 (along with a CBT). So you must be able to.

  10. Yes, it's true, I did the same and had my first driving lesson on my 17th birthday.
