Provisional License?

Question

If I have a provisional license in NJ am I allowed to drive to NY? My mom needs to pick up a car in NY and need a second driver to drive back her car home, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to leave the state with my provisional license. Anybody know?

I live in NJ as well, and I also have my provisional license.  From what I understand, you are allowed to leave the state as long as you abide by the other state's rules, and aren't driving home past mid-night.  But don't hold me to it.
