Question:

Provisional driving liscence question ?

My provisional driving liscense seems to cover me for cars but not for motorbikes. I want to learn to ride a bike. The UK liscense on mine has a car symbol but no bike, does this mean i won't be able to drive a scooter ?

How can i make it so that my liscense does allow me to drive a scooter ?

  1. Catagory P is for mopeds (motorcycles under 50cc) and will be on your licence already.

If you want to learn on a motorcycle bigger than 50cc you will have to send your licence off to the DVLA to have catagory A added, once this is done you will need to do a CBT which will allow you to ride motorcycles up to 125cc.

    Good luck.

  2. You would need to take a CB test,

I believe it costs £75 and almost impossible to fail.  You would book it the same way as you would with a driving test.  Bikes are CAT A.  This does cover you on a provisional license, look on the back
